And
ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo,
these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
Luke
13:16
God’s people are
not supposed to be under any satanic bondage. As a seed of Abraham, the devil
has no right to oppress you because there is no such provision in the covenant
God
made with Abraham. This was the reason why Jesus asked the ruler of the
synagogue “…ought not this woman, being a DAUGHTER OF ABRAHAM, whom SATAN HATH
BOUND, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?” In
other words, it is an error and it is against divine order, for anyone born of
God to be under the captivity of the devil. It is the covenant right of every
child of God to be free from satanic oppression.
“Destruction has overtaken my people because they
have no knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6BBE). However, where this knowledge is lacking,
the people become prey to the devil and his agents.
How
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went
about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was
with him.
Acts
10:38
Now,
I want you to know this truth! God is not the one responsible for whatever you
are going through. The devil is accountable for every sickness, broken homes, depression,
poverty name them. You can see this in the life of the people delivered by our
Lord Jesus Christ. “And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes
marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.” (Matthew 9:33).
Most of the people Jesus healed got their healing after being delivered of the
devil. This is evidence that indeed, satan is the main source or the root of
every affliction and the spirit behind all forms of suffering.
The
Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel
to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance
to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them
that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luke
4:18-19.
The
works of the Father mentioned by our Lord Jesus Christ in John 9, which many
people have misinterpreted, is preaching and teaching the Word, healing the
sick, restoring sight to the blind, and setting free all those who were bound
by the devil. “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy
the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).
Restoring the
young man’s sight in John 9 was the manifestation of the works of God Jesus
told His disciples about. “but that
the works of God should be made manifest in him.”
(John 9:3) This was the reason why Jesus came, to undo every evil done by the
devil in the life of all men.
The
earnest desire of God is to see every man being freed from the captivity of
satan. Hear what He said through Apostle John, “…I wish above all things that
thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” (3
John 2).
God
wants you to prosper in all ramifications and be healthy both in the physical
and in the spiritual. Therefore, He is not responsible for all the troubles you
are going through.
Scripture
says, “[He] took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses” (Matthew
8:17). God cannot say a positive thing and do the opposite. How can He who took
“our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” come again to inflict us with the
things He took? Does that make sense at all? You must understand: God is not an
author of confusion. He cannot be your healer and at the same time be the one
that afflicts you.
Satan
is the spirit behind your sufferings. However, God has given you the power to
quit him out of your life. Bible says, “…Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be
bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven” (Matt 18:18). You have been given the authority to bind the
devil and to lose your life from his captivity. You must put this authority to
work for Heaven to respond to your needs.
For
I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace,
and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jeremiah
29:11
Friend,
God is so passionate about your welfare and as His child; He wants the best for
you. He delights in your prosperity and takes pleasure in your well-being. He
is not happy when you are not making progress and when you are not where you
ought to be.
His
thoughts towards you are excellent thoughts. He cares about you more than you
can care for yourself and no one holds you in higher esteem in this world more
than God does, not even yourself or your parents.
The
Psalmist says, “The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us…” (Psalm
115:12). Can you see how precious you are to God, that He is so busy watching
over you to bless you? God and His Word are one. Whatever He says that is what
He does also. His actions cannot contradict His Word. He cannot be thinking
peace towards you and at the same time bombarding you with crisis.
You
may say, “If indeed, God is really watchful over my life how come He is not
aware of my afflictions?” Of course, God is fully aware of what you are going
through but He has giving you “power…over all the power of the enemy”
(Luke 10:19) responsible for your troubles. Moreover, He expects you to take charge and
reign as a king whom He has enthroned on earth.
The
Bible says the heaven belongs to the Lord but the earth He has given it to the
children of men (Psalms 115:16). In other words, it is your duty to find your
place on earth and possess it. God told Joshua the son of Nun, “Every
place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you…”
(Joshua 1:3). God has given a place, it could be your body, your career, you
marriage and He has equipped you to take charge of it. So therefore, if the
devil is occupying any place in your life, you have to send him packing.
